Who is Dr. Nagla F. ElSalawy?

Dr. Nagla F. ElSalawy is a certified Nutrition Consultant and Assistant Professor of Clinical Pathology at the Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University. She founded Optimum Nutrition Clinic in 2020 and has treated more than 1,200 patients.

What conditions does Dr. Nagla treat?

Therapeutic nutrition for diabetes and prediabetes, overweight and obesity, fatty liver and digestive disorders, chronic kidney disease, thyroid and hormonal disorders including PCOS, pregnancy and breastfeeding, children’s nutrition, and care before and after bariatric surgery.

Where are the clinics?

There are three clinics: Twin Tower and Kargo Mall in Sheikh Zayed City, and Cleopatra Tagamoa Hospital (Sky) in New Cairo. Online consultations are available worldwide.

How do I book an appointment?

Message the clinic on WhatsApp at +20 101 841 0465 or call the same number, Sunday to Thursday between 10:00 and 20:00 Cairo time. The team will arrange a time and location with you.

Do you offer online consultations?

Yes. Video consultations follow the same method as clinic visits — lab review, a written plan and follow-up — and are available in Arabic or English to patients anywhere.

What should I bring to my first visit?

Recent blood tests from the last three to six months, a list of your medications and supplements, and any relevant reports such as ultrasound or endoscopy. If tests are missing, Dr. Nagla will tell you which ones are useful.

Why does a clinical pathology background matter for nutrition?

Clinical pathology is the medical specialty of laboratory diagnosis. Dr. Nagla’s training means she can interpret your blood work in depth and design nutrition that targets what the results show, rather than relying on symptoms alone.

Which languages are consultations in?

Arabic and English.

Does nutrition care replace my doctor or medication?

No. Nutrition plans work alongside your treating physicians. Never stop or change prescribed medication without speaking to the doctor who prescribed it.
