Dr. Nagla F. ElSalawy is a certified Nutrition Consultant and Assistant Professor of Clinical Pathology — combining over twenty years of diagnostic medicine with evidence-based nutritional care.
Her practice focuses on therapeutic nutrition, weight management, metabolic health and personalised dietary planning for adults and children. As founder and manager of Optimum Nutrition Clinic in Egypt since 2020, she has guided more than 1,200 patients through programmes for diabetes, obesity, gastrointestinal disorders, kidney and liver disease, endocrine disorders, pregnancy and breastfeeding, and post-bariatric care.
She also offers telehealth nutrition consultations, helping patients across the region and abroad improve weight control, blood-sugar balance and overall wellbeing without travelling to a clinic.

Alongside her clinical work, Dr. ElSalawy is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University, where she contributes to medical education, research and curriculum development. Her background in clinical pathology lets her bring laboratory data and medical diagnostics directly into nutrition strategies that address the causes of a condition, not only its symptoms.
She holds a Diploma in Nutritional Medicine from the National Institute of Nutrition and regularly takes part in national and international nutrition conferences. Her published research covers nutrition, metabolic disorders, liver disease, vitamin deficiencies and chronic disease management.
